KEY BISCAYNE DANCING STARS

THE MARIA VERDEJA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS is proud to introduce its dance program “Dancing Stars” at KBCC.  The dancer will be able to receive a wide variety of classes in the various technique forms such as, classical ballet, lyrical, jazz and tap. Established since 1986 our program is known for it’s curriculum of strengthening the dancers technique as well as developing a sense of confidence and  high self-esteem through the performances and events that they can participate in.

Classes offered:

Classical Ballet is considered the foundation to all forms of dance. It is the contrast between the strong leg movements and the graceful upper body that creates its beauty.

Level I….ages 3-5
Level II…ages 6-9
Level III...ages 10-13
Pointe…..students will be placed in this class at the Director’s discretion

Lyrical Dance is the fusion of ballet and jazz techniques where dancers use motion to interpret music and express emotion.

Ages…10-14

Jazz is an exciting form of dance to pop music where the dancer shows off skills such as high kicks and large jumps in an energetic way.

Level II….ages 6-9
Level III…ages 10-14

Tap dance is percussive movements with lots of heel work and syncopated moves. The quick steps and timing gives this dance form a unique look.

Ages…7-12

• STUDENTS ARE PLACED  BY THE DIRECTOR
• Ballet is required to be taken twice per week

SESSION I… August 24-October 16
SESSION II…October 19- December 18

Tuition

1 class per week        $120 per session   (8 hours)
2 classes per week     $200 per session  (16 hours)
3 classes per week     $250 per session  (24 hours)
4 classes per week     $320 per session  (32 hours)

• Fees for Dancing Star program :

Registration of $50.00

Costume fee of $95.00 if performing in end of year show.
